In December 2020, the Government published the proposed Statutory Rates for Family Friendly Payments which include Maternity Pay, Paternity Pay, Shared Parental Pay, Adoption Pay, Parental Bereavement Pay and Sick Pay from April 2021.
The Statutory increases normally occur on the first Sunday in April, which in 2021 will be Sunday 4 April.
Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP)
For the first six weeks of Maternity, it is 90% of the employee’s weekly earnings.
For the remaining weeks your employees would be entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay or 90% of the employee’s weekly earnings if this is lower.
From 5 April 2020: £151.20.
From 4 April 2021: £151.97
Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP)
For the first six weeks, it is 90% of the employee’s weekly earnings.
For the remaining weeks your employees would be entitled to Statutory Adoption Pay.
From 5 April 2020: £151.20 or 90% of the employee’s weekly earnings if this is lower.
From 4 April 2021: £151.97
Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP)
Paid for Two Weeks
From 5 April 2020: £151.20 or 90% of the employee’s weekly earnings if this is lower.
From 4 April 2021: £151.97
Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)
From 6 April 2020: £95.85
From 4 April 2021: £96.35
Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay and Leave
If an employee has a child which dies before they turn 18, or if they have a stillbirth after 24 weeks of pregnancy, they maybe entitled to Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay and Leave.
Your employee can take 2 weeks leave from the first day of employment for each child who has died or was still born if you’re eligible.

Your employee should receive either £151.20 a week or 90% of their weekly average earnings (whichever is lower).
