Redundancy Collective Consultation Variation of Contract Letter

This template letter can be used to commence the collective consultation process prior to varying contracts.  Where the proposed change to employees’ terms and conditions of employment is likely to mean that employees’ agreement will be difficult to obtain and that notices of termination may need to be issued to at least 20 employees, the employer should consider commencing collective consultation (and notifying the Secretary of State on form HR1) from the outset.
